Departing from Obernai train station, you’ll take a guided tour of Obernai town center, surrounded by medieval ramparts.
Stroll through this charming Alsatian town with its typical half-timbered houses and ramparts.
A visit to Obernai is a guaranteed trip back in time to the medieval era! Today, Obernai is one of the largest towns in the Bas-Rhin region, with a population of over 10,000, but the historic town center is still very quiet and retains its charm of yesteryear.
We’ll head to the town’s central square to visit the Belfry, one of the few in the region (outdoor tour).
Located at the start of the Alsace Wine Route, there are many vineyards around the town. We’ll take time to stop at a wine shop for a tasting of Alsace wine*.
We’ll then head off to the Mémorial aux Incorporés de Force, a memorial to the many Alsatians who were drafted into the German army during the Second World War. From here, you’ll have a panoramic view of the city.
